Become a trainer
Get paid to teach security while you're still in school.
Or a year or two into the job. We run live cybersecurity sessions for churches, nonprofits, small businesses and local government, and we need people who can hold a room near where they already live. We bring the material and the coaching. You bring the teaching.
Who this is for.
We can supply the security knowledge. The job isn't only explaining it to people who don't do this for a living. It's giving them your time, listening to what worries them, and helping them work through what's unclear.
- Students, mostly Cybersecurity, IT or anything adjacent. You don't need a degree in hand. You need enough grounding that a room's questions don't strand you.
- Early career, equally A year or two into a help desk or a SOC is a good place to teach from, because you remember what it was like not to know.
- You can get there Sessions happen where the client is. In Ohio that means a drive rather than a flight. You set how far you're willing to go and we work inside it.
- You want the room, not the slides This is twenty people in a church basement at 7am, asking what they'd never ask a video, and you being the reason one of them stops. If that sounds like the worst part, it's the whole job.
What it pays, and what we won't promise.
$100 to start, per completed session, plus approved mileage. It goes up as you deliver well. That's the whole of it, and there's nothing to buy from us at any point.
Said plainly
We can't promise you a number of sessions. We're building this bench ahead of the demand, on purpose, because a request from a town we can't reach is how we decide where the next trainer goes. Some people we authorize will wait months for a session near them. If steady hours are what you need right now, this isn't that yet. Better you hear it here than after you've applied.
- Paid per session, not per hour A session is typically 60 to 90 minutes in the room. Preparation for your first few will take longer than the session does, and that time isn't billable.
- Mileage on top Approved in advance, so you know before you drive. We look for somebody already close, which is why the application asks how far you'll travel.
- No territory, no buy-in, no kit to purchase You're not buying anything and you're not being sold anything. If a training opportunity ever asks you for money, that's the tell, here or anywhere else.
How you get authorized.
Three steps, in order, before you deliver a session on your own. We call it authorization, and the word is doing exact work: there's no exam behind it and no outside body standing over it. It's our own standard, applied by us, and it's worth knowing that before you tell anyone what you hold.
-
01
You sit in on a full session
Delivered by an authorized trainer, start to finish, with you in the room as an attendee. Not a briefing and not a recording. You need to have watched a room react before you stand in front of one.
-
02
You work through the material, then teach two parts back
Out loud, on a call, to one of our trainers. Two parts only, because they're the two that get taught wrong: what actually triggers the plan, and where verification lives. No written test. If you've got those two backwards you'll teach a room to do the opposite of the thing, and it's cheap to catch here.
-
03
We watch your first delivery
Before you deliver on your own, an authorized trainer sits in on your first session and tells you whether you're cleared to deliver it unobserved.
Authorization is for the session you're delivering, not for everything we teach. A new session means the standard applies again. You're never sent into a room to teach something you haven't been authorized on, which is as much a protection for you as it is for the client.
How the work reaches you.
- A request comes in near you Normally it will come from the IT company that looks after the client. We match it against who is authorized and close, and we ask you before we commit a date to anybody.
- You can say no Turning down a session costs you nothing and doesn't move you down a list. You're a person with a schedule, not capacity on a board.
- We handle the client, you handle the room Scheduling, the arrangement, the invoice and the training record are ours, and you arrive prepared and teach.
- Adults only, in every session No session we run has a child in the room, including the ones written for families, which are written for the parent instead.
Apply.
Enough to tell whether there's work near you and whether to start a conversation. It goes to one inbox that a person reads.
What happens next.
- A person reads it Usually inside a working day. If there's work near you we'll say so, and if there isn't we'll say that instead of leaving you wondering.
- Then a conversation Before anything else. We'd rather find out over half an hour whether this suits you than put you through three steps to discover it doesn't.
- Questions first is fine Call (844) 448-0644, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Eastern, or email contact@cyberweb.services. You don't have to apply to ask something.
